Join Southern Flourery No.6 to create a stunning sourdough focaccia masterpiece! Using fresh, local, and organic ingredients, we’ll transform your focaccia into an edible work of art perfect for impressing at gatherings or savoring at home.

The class begins with an introduction to making sourdough from scratch, including nurturing your starter, mixing dough, folding, and proofing. While your dough rests, Maria will guide you through creative decorating techniques using herbs, vegetables, and fruits. You’ll design and bake your own focaccia to take home, along with a recipe and a live sourdough starter to continue your baking journey.

In This Class, You Will:

  • Learn how to start and maintain a sourdough starter to take home.

  • Discover step-by-step techniques for making sourdough focaccia.

  • Master decorating techniques using fresh, seasonal ingredients.

  • Create and bake your own beautiful focaccia bread to take home.

Maria is the head baker and creative force behind Southern Flourery No.6, a family-operated bakery known for its long-fermented sourdough creations and commitment to organic ingredients. Maria’s journey into baking began with a love for creating everything from scratch, using the freshest and purest ingredients possible.

With a background in cultivating Tennessee Smart Yard and wildlife habitat gardens, Maria brings sustainability, artistry, and a touch of Napa Valley sophistication to her baking. Whether she’s working alongside her team in the bakery, setting up a booth alongside her family at the local Farmer’s market, or teaching others the art of sourdough, Maria’s passion for food, family, and community shines in everything she does.
